UB Law’s Community Development Clinic working to reform Baltimore’s legal consequences to unpaid and inaccurate water bills


The United Nations says that water prices in Baltimore are unaffordable.  The city can shut off water service – and set people on the path to losing their homes at foreclosure – due to as little as $750 in unpaid water bills.  Moreover, many people get water bills for hundreds or even thousands of dollars that seem to have no explanation or justification.  The Community Development Clinic, working with a broad coalition of non-profits, legal services organizations, and concerned individuals, is working to reform the law.
